US President Donald Trump says there are "thousands of ventilators being built" to supply the country's hospitals as they grapple to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. "A ventilator - other than a pandemic or epidemic - you wouldn't need anything like this. Hospitals get by with three ventilators and now they want thousands," the US President said.
The United States death toll has risen above 5,800 with more than 236,000 cases recorded nationally.
