Why So Many Boeing 747s Fly Between South Korea & Alaska If you search up all the flights between the Korean capital of Seoul and the Alaskan city of Anchorage, you’ll notice that there are a lot of them these days. Many of these flights use the iconic Boeing 747 aircraft. While Seoul is a major East Asian city with 9.7 million inhabitants, Anchorage is drastically smaller, with just 3% of the population (an estimated 291,000). So why are so many 747s flying between these two cities?
