The May Lee Show #15 - Taking Action in the Fog of Xenophobia

The May Lee Show #15 - Taking Action in the Fog of Xenophobia After the last episode of “The May Lee Show” when May and Benny Luo, founder of NextShark, called out the Asian community, especially those with influence, about not being more vocal about xenophobic attacks against Asians, more voices are now being heard publicly condemning racism and supporting the Asian American community. There are also a growing number of grassroots campaigns to raise awareness of this disturbing phenomenon. In this episode of the show, May speaks with Celia Au, actress and activist who is involved with #WashTheHate. May also digs into the history of racism in America with Dr. Connie Wun, co-founder of AAPI Women Lead. They talk about how historic events have impacted the continuation of racist attitudes about minorities by the majority, but also racism within minority groups. What can we learn from history and how can we take those lessons and use them now to incite positive change in order to move forward together?
