Some nail trimming tips. You will want to take the time to condition your dog to having its foot held. Do this a couple of times a day, right before feeding time or walk time, so that your dog sees it as the cue that something good is going to happen. Unfortunately we can't trim your dog's nails due to the pandemic, so if you're able, it's a good time for you to learn to do them. Once you're comfortable holding your dog's foot and handling the clippers, trim a few nails. You don't have to do them all at once, stop while your dog is still calm. Whittle at the nails, just small slices off at a time, one side, then the other, rather than trying to take large chunks.
