EXERCISE JIDAR-UL-HADEED (WALL OF IRON)
The Chief of Army Staff of The Pakistan Army General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited training area in Thar Desert where ongoing tactical exercise is being conducted wherein the operational capability of field formations operating in desert is being tested in near battlefield environment. Commander V Corps greeted COAS on arrival. Exercise Jidar -ul- Hadeed involves integrated manoeuvres of infantry & mechanized forces in a defensive role. COAS was given detailed briefing by exercise commander on the aim & objectives of ongoing exercise & drills being practiced to ensure complete dominance of the battlefield. The troops have been undergoing this exercise under strenuous field conditions for over two weeks which will culminate on 28 Feb. While lauding the standard of training of participating troops, COAS expressed his complete satisfaction over operational preparedness & combat readiness of the formation. “Vigorous training & highest standard of preparedness in peacetime are the only guarantors of peace”, COAS emphasised.
The V Karachi Corps of the Pakistan Army are practicing tactical drills in the Thar desert as part of exercise Jidar-ul-Hadeed, practicing coordinated all-round defence and survival skills. The exercise is aimed at validating the concept of defence in deserts and this field exercise that commenced on January 28 has focused on enhancing operational preparedness, synergy amongst various components of forces and effective response measures under the actual battlefield environment. The drill is being conducted in extreme desert conditions, under a conventional operations setting.
