The fatality rate of the coronavirus is less than one-tenth of original predictions, according to a study by 17 medical professionals, most of whom are affiliated with Stanford University. They tentatively concluded that the real mortality rate is between 0.12 percent and 0.2 percent — between 12 and 20 deaths per 10,000 population — instead of the scary and now highly questionable 200 to 400 per 10,000.
