Shoppers in Philippines ignore social distancing rules

Crowds of shoppers ignored COVID-19 social distancing measures to visit a market in the most populous city of the Philippines. Health officials have rolled out sweeping restrictions on inter-city travel and strict curfews in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Onlooker Sam Alforte said he was about to get some supplies for his family as well but decided not to do so because of what he saw. He said: "I do not understand why there are so many people and I am worried that the quarantine will have to be extended because of them."
