The year is 1986, half of western USSR is destroyed and the other half is now dominated by rebel forces. The survivors have been left resourceless and gangs are being formed for domination of remains. Sergei, a soviet soldier, has to guide Paul, Nuclear Scientist, to the capital to help with decontamination. The film revolves around the idea of survival and the horror of anticipation. Paul has to deliver a folder to Minsk, but Fear and Isolation start to drive Paul crazy. He tries to cope with his swindling thoughts as the world around him continues to grow creepy. The story follows the downfall of their journey and an inevitable end that affects the fate of the world.
