Live from Tehran as 'low-risk' economic activities resume

Ruptly is live from Tehran on Saturday, April 11, as “low-risk” economic activities resume. On March 27, the Iranian government had implemented social distancing measures to slow down the spread of the novel coronavirus in the country. However, due to economic concern, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced the restart of certain sectors after a cabinet meeting on April 5.

The country has been hit hard by the ongoing health crisis with 66,220 confirmed cases and over 4,000 deaths, according to data compiled by the Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
